Five Minute Friday: Rest

My soul finds rest in God alone; my salvation comes from Him. He alone is my rock and my salvation; He is my fortress, I will never be shaken. Psalm 62:1-2

Sweet words of comfort.

I long to sink into the arms of my Savior and rest my head.

The chaos of the week brings me head to head with exhaustion.

Paperwork, cleaning, therapy, evaluations, sickness, sleeplessness, deadlines, financial strain, bad news...

Thankfully there is a place of respite. A place of hope.

And He said to them, 'Come away by yourselves to a lonely place and rest a while.' Mark 6:31

I will cradle my mug of coffee, pull out my worn Bible, and be refreshed.

Escape into the brief still moment of the day and listen to my Savior's words.

Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.  Matthews 11:28-30

I am drawn to Your sincere invitation. I will come to You. And I will find rest.

  1. I am joining with you, friend in finding my rest in Him. I too used the verses in Matthew in my post. Bless you, thank you for sharing this, praying that your heart rests well in Him today.
