The mild weather begrudgingly took a step back for a couple days to let us North Carolinians pretend to have a winter. As soon as the temperature began plummeting, I pulled out the fuzzy socks and my well-worn (and a bit dingy but oh-so-warm) wool sweater and let myself enjoy some of my favorite cold weather delights.
Oh happy me.
I finally mastered a gluten free bread recipe - gluten free (and casein free) artisan bread, thank you very much. |

When boredom strikes, just use the old Tom Sawyer method and give them a task - but make them think it's a game... [*wink*] |

"You have put more joy in my heart
than they have when their grain and wine abound.
In peace I will both lie down and sleep;for You alone, O Lord, make me dwell in safety."
Psalm 4:7-8
Love! :) Great picture of you and the hubs, Pretty Lady!!!
ReplyDeleteThanks, Staci! :)
DeleteI love this blog post. And your blog in general. Your transparency blesses me and I love the photos. Thanks for posting the link to the gluten free bread. My husband has celiac and the rest of us are feeling much better going gf. But we still like bread, pizza and other gf treats. Yay for date nights. Essential. I was also wondering what book you are reading in the photo. I love to read, especially books that draw me to God.
ReplyDeleteHi Jan! Thanks for stopping by and for your kind words!
DeleteI have enjoyed all the gluten free recipes in "Healthy Bread in Five Minutes a Day: 100 New Recipes Featuring Whole Grains, Fruits, Vegetables, and Gluten-Free Ingredients". I also recommend "Cooking for Isaiah: Gluten-Free & Dairy-Free Recipes for Easy, Delicious Meals". Please pass along any cookbooks/websites/recipes you find tasty. I'm always on the lookout. :)
Date nights are essential! We had a gift card to one of our favorite restaurants and Aaron's mom offered to watch the boys for an evening... an offer to wonderful to pass up.
The book I am reading is a peaceful novel - a simple pleasure I enjoy from time-to-time. I am also currently reading "Heaven" by Randy Alcorn, "Forgotten God" by Francis Chan, and I am re-reading "The Ragamuffin Gospel" by Brennan Manning. I also welcome any suggested readings... :)
Again, thank you for reading my blog - I am humbled and honored.
